Consistent Action: The Force That Shapes Your Life

You may have heard the saying, “you eat an elephant one bite at a time.” Even if the metaphor makes you a little queasy, the point is a valid one: to tackle something big, you just have to start.
Action is the most important of all powers in Success Principles. You may have all the knowledge in the world, yes, but if you do not take any action and apply that knowledge, there is no use of it. Like I say to my friends, knowledge not put to use is useless and irrelevant. Continue reading “Consistent Action: The Force That Shapes Your Life “

Self belief: The Key to Making Things Happen

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyways. Because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible. It’s not the feather, it’s you! You can fly. Continue reading “Self belief: The Key to Making Things Happen “

10 Lessons I Wish I Knew When I Was 10

As life experiences and study began to unveil to me secrets of being a top flyer, I have come to the understanding of life’s true meaning. These lessons I will be sharing with you, have made a huge impact in my life as of recent and I just wish I knew these lessons many years ago when I was 10. These lessons still have the great capacity to propel you to greatness irrespective of where you are now.
Lets take a look at these lessons:

1. Believe in yourself
The human mind is a wonderful thing. It allows us to form opinions about ourselves and others. The truism is, you are your own worst critic, and so can you be your own best supporter. Believing in your abilities, talent, skill is the best thing you can ever do for yourself. Your self worth is the outcome of your believe system. You must have faith in your intrisic worth. Having faith in you bolster selfesteem and confidence in life. You can do more than you can imagine if you believe in you.

2. Learn to ask great questions
You don’t know everything and odds are you’ll find yourself around people who are a lot smarter than you. Stay curious and ask great questions. We grow in knowledge and wisdom through questioning certain facts and seeking clarity. Knowledge is king. Ask, Ask and Ask!

3. It’s YOU Vs YOU
Stop comparing yourself to others. You might never be the strongest person in the gym, the richest guy on a Forbes list or the fastest guy in the marathon. If that upsets you, you’re missing the point. But rather, concentrate on being better today than you were yesterday. If you keep doing that, you’ll be successful. It may not happen right away, just give it time and stay focused on improving just a little every day, you’ll amaze yourself. Go Find Yourself!

4. Make people feel good
Never underestimate the power of a simple compliment. Make the people around you feel good, I bet you, the world will return the favor. People seem to have a way of remembering the people who made them feel special. Be the reason why someone will smile today.

5. Self awareness
With our busy schedule, it might be difficult to find time to think about who we are, our strengths and weaknesses, our drives and personalities, our habits and value. Besides many of us aren’t inclined to spend much time on self—reflection. Self awareness is really knowing yourself. Lao Tzu once said, “He who knows others is wise. But he who knows himself is enlightened”. The worst of all ignorance is not knowing yourself.

6. Mistakes are part of growth
You don’t have to get it right always. See mistake as a feedback in your journey towards excellence and not an end zone. Mistake gives us an opportunity to learn and grow. It’s not bad to make mistake but it is bad never learning from such mistake.

7. Leverage on what you have
Stevie Wonder can’t see, but he has an exceptional ear for music. Oh yes! He exploited that talent and his passion for music. Today he has 25 Grammy awards to show for it. What is holding you back? Learn to work with what you’ve got instead of complaining about your situation.

8. Network
Meet as many new people as you can in your journey of life. It may not always be clear to you, but the people you meet can help you. Treat everyone like you’d like to be treated (The Golden Rule) and be willing to make new friends. The world is smaller than you think. You’ll be amazed at who is connected to whom.

9. Invest in yourself
“There’s no wealth like knowledge and no poverty like ignorance” says Buddha.
Never stop learning. Yes, school ends at some point, but life is a journey, and if you’re not growing, you’re dying. Learn a new skill, read a new book , learn a language, take a class, learn to dance, learn to play an instrument. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you invest in yourself and you keep growing.

10. Stop worrying so much about what other people think.
Letting the opinions of your peers influence your decisions is one of the worst things you can do. You’ll realize later just how foolish it was. The only thing that is important is what you think and feel about yourself.
Everyone has an opinion, but in reality other’s opinions of you are based more on their history and perceptions than anything you’re actually doing. So while it’s good to ask for feedback, rely on your own assessment of you rather than others.

Life is short but incredible. Wake up and enjoy the ride!

Be brave enough to live life creatively. The creative place where no one else has ever been—Alan Alda.

Many a time we don’t get to the next phase in life/business/career simply because we have so conditioned ourselves as motivation driven being, and that nothing works without an atom of it. Get it right, I am not saying that motivation is a bad idea but the orientation behind it is bad; that’s why motivation doesn’t create a lasting impact on us.
“Humans” says Aristotle “are teleogical being”—meaning purpose driven. Nothing exist on earth without purpose. Purpose is the reason for your existence; the true meaning of life. Your life doesn’t count based on motivation but rather on purpose. Wisdom is discovering who you are and striving to become that you. Outside purpose, everything is secondary.

The first step to a great future is purpose discovery. Have you ever asked yourself Who am I? And why am I here? If you haven’t, why not take a minute or two to ponder over it.
Those who put their feet and write their name in the sands of time are those who live purpose. The history of the world is nothing but biography of great men who discovered their purpose of existence and followed it through. Purpose is the mitochondria of greatness. You don’t need motivation now. All you need is to find your purpose. As Jennifer Mualin rightly puts it, “To live without purpose is to render your life meaningless”. Motivation in a life devoid of purpose has a very short half – life.

Purpose triggers passion. Purpose is the reason for passion and passion itself is the greatest motivation of all.
Purpose is the reason for

  • Goals
  • Plan
  • Dream
  • Passion

With all these, we can fulfil purpose.

I will end on this note with the words of the Legendary  Founder of Apple Computers, Steve Jobs.
“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I love what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t find it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle for less. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Keep looking until you find your purpose. Don’t settle. You’re more than this”.

I say to you;

When impossiblity roars as the jungle king
I fear not
Because I can.

When tomorrow scares me
And the scars of the past mount bridges on me
I am not weired out
Because I can.

Times when friends flee
All hope seems lost
I am resolute to win
Because I can.

Failure gave me a quit option
But I never gave in
Because I can.

Even in nothingness
I can.

No matter the magnitude of the storms
I can.

Yes I can
Because I can.

3 Keys To Greatness

To every success in life, certain key principles are well put to work. Same goes for failure. We fail when we fail to put effectively to work certain key principles of life. Nothing works if we don’t make it work.

Below are 3 Keys  To Greatness which I have discovered  through consistent learning and life experience.

1. Self awareness/discovery

2. Personal development

3. Giving
Self awareness/Discovery

If you know who you really are(*not what you think you are or what people think you are) via revelation and passion, then your purpose in life is defined. One of the most dangerous path to take in life is living without purpose. The reason why many still wander in goose chase today,  can be attributed to a life out of purpose. A wise philosopher by name Aristotle once said “humans are teleological being” —meaning purpose driven being. A life not driven by purpose  gives room for frustration.

Personal Development

“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and endeavours to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours” says Henry David Thoreau. Getting to know your purpose is the first step to piloting life to greatness. But that isn’t all. You must grow yourself in the direction of you purpose. Growth is a conscious act. Birds don’t fly without wings. They develop wings and master the act of soaring. Same goes to you as an individual desiring a better future for yourself. Your skill is your wing and if you must soar greatly your must master your skill. However, a skill you fail to put to use turns vestigial. What you fail to use becomes useless. Your skill can better you if you better your skill. Keep developing yourself because that’s the key to reaching more in life.

“Life most persistent question is” says Martin Luther King Jr “What are you doing for others?”. Don’t wait to have the entire world to be a light in someone’s world. With what you got, you can make a difference. One of the secrets of becoming more in life is by giving more.  Great men sees giving as an opportunity for a step up. If you must keep rising in the direction of your purpose, master the act of giving and remain a cheerful giver.

Don’t wait for your future to happen by chance, make it happen!
