How to be Successful in Achieving Your Goals

How can you achieve your goals in life?
Why do some people always achieve their goals?
And why do some people never manage to reach what they want?

“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands character, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes” –Andrew Carnegie.

Goal setting is a fundamental element of motivation and success. We set goals for ourselves; it could be hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. This gets us excited with enthusiasm to do all things to achieve that goal. But at a time, we forget about these goals; until the occasional forgeting becomes permanently doing nothing to achieve it. This is why most of us fail to achieve our goals in life.

So what can you do to avoid falling into this trap? I say YOU SHOULD MARRY YOUR GOALS.

Without a real yearning or passion for achieving your goal, it is only a series of words. Your passion drives your activities and success. It dominates your conversations, your thinking, your actions and your very being. You will fail to achieve an outcome if it is lifeless, too bland or one that someone else has imposed on you. You should not settle for mediocrity. You should always strive for improvement on your performance.

Goals require commitment and dedication. There’s no other way around it. If you are struggling with committing to a specific goal, go back and start the process over. You may not have identified the goal just right, or you may be lacking the necessary motivation to see it through. Make your goal a part of who you are by incorporating it into your habits.

Your ability to think, plan, decide and take action determines the entire course of your life. I cannot put enough emphasis on the fact you need to believe in yourself and in your abilities to achieve anything in life. Believing in yourself is the key to almost everything you will start. If you start a business not only you need to be in love with what you do, but you also need to believe in the fact it can work. It’s the stepping stone to any foundation

Unless you invest in yourself, you will never achieve success. How do you invest in yourself?  You do this every time you choose to channel your time and energy into an endeavour that will make you a more successful, knowledgeable person in the long-run. You reap what you sow. If you do not sow, you can expect nothing in return.

You may need external support to accomplish your goals, or maybe you are struggling with the commitment factor and need someone to hold you accountable. While your goals may be personal to you, that doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. If you need help, support or just a cheerleader, ask someone your trust.

The key to achieving your goal is persistence. No matter how much talent you have, if you don’t persist, you might just give up right before your big breakthrough. Don’t let any failure discourage you. You already know that obstacles will happen. Whenever they do – work on them and keep going forward. Once you decide you want to achieve a goal, make a decision to never ever give up.
