5 Cost Effective Ways To Start Investing In Yourself

“Success doesn’t come to you, you go to it.” – Marie Colling

Investing in yourself may be the most profitable investment you ever make. It yields not only future returns, but often a current payoff as well.

At a time in my life, I suffered low self-esteem. It was a huge loop hole in my life. Then, I could boldly say without words failing me that I am among the top 10 most shy persons in the world. My low self-esteem took away my confidence and self worth and funny enough, I was aware of it.

Though I knew what I wanted, but I was not getting it because my communication skill and self confidence was too infinitesimal to be counted as nothing  on the interpersonal relationship scale.

How was I able to overcome this and take hold of my life? The answer is, personal development. Everything turned around when I made the decision to invest in myself.

By making small changes and investing in myself in positive ways today, I ultimately changed my status quo. Today, I am happy I did.

You owe it to yourself & the people around you to be the best version of you.

Here are  5 Cost Ways You Can invest In You and take charge of your life…

2. Attend Seminars/Conferences That Peak Your Passion
Attend seminars and workshops to expand your knowledge and skills in your business and/or personal life. This will also give you the opportunity to meet and interact with individuals who are like-minded.

3. Read Books or eBooks That Interest You
Invest your time in learning new things. Read books that interest you. Don’t stop learning. The very best lessons in life are not taught in school so you have to take extra effort to learn more. Don’t expect your results to change if you don’t improve. Invest in yourself. You will eventually earn more if you learn more.

4. Volunteer
The greatest part of my personal development is attributed to voluntarism. Being a crazy and passionate volunteer, I discovered myself, gained new skills like Youth Advocacy, Public Speaking, Interpersonal Relationship and lots more. Voluntarism offers you more than you give and give you more than you expect. It is a great opportunity to learn, unlearn and relearn.

5. Find a Mentor
If you are serious about investing in yourself and your future, find someone to mentor you, especially in a field you want to excel in. Through effective mentorship, I have learnt to proactively approach tasks, using creative and independent thinking. Mentorship paves way for championship. Be humble and you will learn alot.

Unless you invest in yourself, you will never succeed.” Invest in yourself now because no one else will ever do it for you.

  1. Mentorship is so important. My mentors have helped me through many situations in my life. Their experience is invaluable. Other people often see in you, what you can’t see in yourself. The good and the bad. Great post! bossinthemiddle.com
